News from LCHS
Dear Families,
September 7th we will have a practice Lockdown Drill. Our practice drill is just so we familiarize ourselves with our expectations and routines in case we are ever faced with a crisis.
In a Lockdown, students and teachers are trained to follow “Locks, Lights, Out of Sight”. Students move away from sight and maintain silence as teachers lock the classroom doors, turn out the lights, account for students, and wait for the First Responders to open the door. We practice this standard response protocol to ensure safety in our school should an emergency arise.
Please take this opportunity to talk with your child about safety at school and at home. Please contact me if you have any questions about our Standard Response Protocol or lockdown practice.
Sincerely,
Mike Vagher
Director of Safety & Security
Thank you, parents, for your patience and understanding as we work to resolve the glitches with our automated attendance calls the past two weeks. We are transitioning to some new software that will provide greater support for our students and we are working with the company to improve the software communication with our PowerSchool data base. Again, thank you!
Panther of the Week: Emma Dallas is this week’s Panther of the Week. Emma continues to be that one student that goes out of her way to help her peers — especially those younger than she. Emma continues to excel in her school work, hold down a job and be heavily involved in extra-curricular activities. She understands the importance of a good attitude, hard work, and caring!
Be a part of nominating our Panther of the Week! The Panther of the Week can be nominated for any demonstration of our values or general awesomeness. Panthers of the week get to go to a lunch with the Lion’s club and have their names and pictures in the Herald Democrat. Please use this link to nominate. A group of alumni, parents and students vote each week on the nominees.
The last day for LCHS students to make schedule changes is this Friday, August 24th. Counselors will not make any changes to schedules after that.

There will be no MS volleyball practice Friday 9/7/18. Rest day and get caught up on homework.
