April proclaimed Month of the Young Child by Leadville Mayor

At a recent City Council meeting, Mayor Greg Labbe officially proclaimed April in Leadville as the Month of the Young Child.

This celebration of our community’s youngest learners helps bring attention to the importance of a child’s early years in shaping their learning and brain development.  This event encourages everyone to recognize that children’s opportunities for learning are everyone’s responsibility and to recommit ourselves to ensuring that every child experiences the type of early environment-at home, at child care, at school, and in the home – that will promote early learning.
