This week’s Teacher Feature is Derek Lindquist, Kindergarten teacher
~How many years have you been teaching? 3 years
~Where did you got to school to become a teacher? University of Minnesota for both bachelor’s and master’s degrees
~What is your favorite part of being a teacher? I love to build relationships with my students so that I have their trust and can push them to their maximum potential.
~What do you like to do for fun/as a hobby? I love doing various outdoor activities like hiking mountains, rock climbing, skiing (nordic and downhill), kayaking, camping, or just a peaceful stroll in nature.
~What’s the funniest thing a student has said to you or a classmate? “Knock, knock.” “Who’s there?” “Interrupting cow.” “Interrupting cow who?” “I’m glad I didn’t say banana.”
~What do you hope for your students in the future? I hope that my students build a desire to learn for life and to never give up on things.
~What is your favorite vacation spot? I love the concept of exploring everything so I cannot choose just one spot.
~Favorite quote or saying? “Our limits are beyond the sky.”
