Composting Comes to LCSD This Fall
We are thrilled to be partnering with the Cloud City Conservation Center (C4) to begin composting in our schools! Students in grades 3-12 will be composting every day at lunch starting this fall. C4 has teamed up with the School District to purchase two composting Earth Tubs, which will be located behind the Intermediate School. Students will lead the effort to turn food scraps into nutrient rich soil. This project is possible through grants from the EPA, Freeport McMoRan Community Investment Fund, Copper Environmental Fund and the Summit Foundation.
