LCSD Schools Closed~ Thursday, Nov. 13th
Dear LCSD Staff & Families:
Thank you for your patience as law enforcement has worked tirelessly to investigate the threats that were made against our schools and other public offices in Lake County today. Student and staff safety is always our top priority, and we make decisions jointly with our law enforcement partners based on the information we have at our disposal at any given time.
At this time, the investigation is ongoing and, out of an abundance of caution, law enforcement has advised us to keep our schools closed on Thursday. Please watch the Lake County Sheriff’s Office webpage and Facebook account for additional information.
All after-school activities and practices will be cancelled on Thursday. In addition, the Lake County High School production of The Crucible will be rescheduled to a different set of dates to be announced in the coming days. Amy Peters, Athletic Director, will be in touch with the Middle School Boys teams regarding the game scheduled for Thursday in Gypsum.
We will communicate with staff about the planned Professional Development / work day scheduled for Friday. At this point, we hope to hold those activities as planned.
We are in very close contact with the Lake County Sheriff’s Office as they coordinate the investigation with other agencies. We will continue to provide updates as we have them.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we know that closing schools is disruptive. We appreciate your partnership.
