CCHS News and Announcements
Hello Fabulous Cloud City Families!
I am happy to announce that we have published our latest Student Parent Handbook on our website! Please follow the link and take a moment to thumb through the following sections that students and families tend to most frequently ask about:
- Athletic Eligibility
- Tardiness and Absences
- Work Based Learning
- Personal Devices
Several students either have reached or have surpassed the number of absences that cause us to have attendance support plan meetings. I will be contacting students and families in coming weeks to schedule meetings for how we can support better attendance.
In partnership,
Heather
Reminder: Student Count
Each year our schools have an official day in which attendance of students is counted. This count of students is used to calculate funding our district will receive from the state. Typically, this count date is October 1st. Because we run a four-day calendar and will not have school on October 1st, our official count day will be September 30th. Thank you in advance for your support of having students in attendance on September 30th this year.
Board of Education Meetings move to mondays
The Board of Education voted at the Regular Meeting on Sept. 14, 2021, to change their meeting nights to the 2nd and 4th Mondays of each month at 6:30 pm.
Meeting information is located on the district website (lakecountyschools.net)-under Board of Education-Meetings and Minutes (link is here)
If you have any questions regarding meetings or the board, please reach out to Bunny Taylor at btaylor@lakecountyschools.net or 719-486-6805 for more information.

Hello Lake County Friends and Families! LCHS Student Senate would like to ask for your participation in the homecoming parade on September 30th at 4 pm, on Harrison Avenue. The float theme will be Disney. We are hopeful that you will consider picking up your families from school that day rather than ride the buses home. We would love it if you brought your family to come support The Lake County Panthers and possibly march alongside us. The parade is open to all so please bring your kids, your families, and your dogs, if you’d like! Make a plan to pick up your students and take them to Harrison Avenue for this special event and don’t forget to wear your purple and gold!
