We have officially wrapped up our state testing season. Thank you to all of our students who arrived on time, worked hard, and gave their best effort on each exam. We appreciate your commitment and dedication.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We also want to congratulate our prospective graduates. On Tuesday, we celebrated Scholarship Night, where students from CCHS and LCHS were awarded nearly $1.7 million in scholarships to continue their educational pathways. We are incredibly proud of each and every one of these students and all they have accomplished.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A special congratulations goes to Seydis Calel Cano for receiving the Silent Service Award. This recognition was given for her dedication, commitment, and service-learning hours. We are incredibly proud of her accomplishments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As we move into the final stretch of the school year, there are only a few weeks remaining. For students intending to graduate in June, families should be hearing from your child\u2019s Crew Teacher soon for the second graduation check-in, including updates on progress toward graduation requirements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Attendance continues to be a top priority.<\/strong> Research consistently shows a strong connection between regular attendance and student success. Please communicate with the school if your child will be absent from their regularly scheduled class time, and whenever possible, try to schedule appointments outside of school hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lastly, don\u2019t forget about Prom for students in grades 11 and 12. If you are planning to bring an underclassman or someone who is not an LCSD student, all permission forms must be turned in on or by Wednesday, April 29th.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mental Health Matters This May<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

May is Mental Health Awareness Month\u2014a great time to check in on your student\u2019s emotional well-being. Stress, anxiety, and end-of-year transitions can impact how students feel and perform. The School-Based Health Centers through Elevated Community Health<\/strong> are here to support students with a safe, supportive space and access to care right on campus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Looking ahead to summer, select School-Based Health Centers will remain open<\/strong>, so students can continue receiving care even when school is out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mayo es el Mes de la Concientizaci\u00f3n sobre la Salud Mental, un buen momento para reflexionar sobre el bienestar emocional de su estudiante. El estr\u00e9s, la ansiedad y las transiciones de fin de a\u00f1o pueden afectar c\u00f3mo se sienten y se desempe\u00f1an los estudiantes. Los Centros de Salud Escolar a trav\u00e9s de Elevated Community Health<\/strong> est\u00e1n aqu\u00ed para apoyar a los estudiantes con un espacio seguro y acceso a servicios directamente en la escuela.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The CE team at CMC<\/strong> has been working hard to run another FAFSA\/CASFA event to help remove barriers to access our Locals’ scholarships (many outside scholarships require this be completed as well).  CMC is currently running a national survey to collect data on our CE student experience.
