Wow, we are already in the middle of May! Time is speeding by, and we have very limited academic days remaining in the school year. Please encourage your student to make every moment count<\/strong> as we finish the year strong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are wrapping up our NWEA testing, and we are excited to celebrate student success, growth, and achievement during our Community Meeting on Monday. We are incredibly proud of the hard work and progress our students have demonstrated throughout the year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wednesday, May 20th, will be our Workforce Boot Camp day. All students need to arrive at school by 8:25 AM, as we have a full day of traveling planned. Students will be heading to a ranch in Center to learn about and assist in the area of agriculture. Following the ranch experience, students will travel to Hooper Hot Springs where they will have the opportunity to swim, relax, spend time together, and order food. We anticipate returning home around 6:00 PM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If the extended day is not manageable for a student, we will have a couple of staff members remaining in the building to support students in catching up on missing assignments and portfolio work. Students should still plan to attend school on this day, even if they are not participating in the trip.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also a reminder regarding outstanding student fees: Cathleen has been distributing bills to potential graduating students and has also shared this information to all during conference times. Please make sure you are staying on top of these balances by paying them in full or making smaller payments over time so they are taken care of prior to graduation. For graduating students, all fees must be paid in full before caps and gowns can be distributed. You may pay online using a credit card, or Cathleen can accept cash or check in the office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mental Health Matters This May<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

May is Mental Health Awareness Month\u2014a great time to check in on your student\u2019s emotional well-being. Stress, anxiety, and end-of-year transitions can impact how students feel and perform. The School-Based Health Centers through Elevated Community Health<\/strong> are here to support students with a safe, supportive space and access to care right on campus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Looking ahead to summer, select School-Based Health Centers will remain open<\/strong>, so students can continue receiving care even when school is out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mayo es el Mes de la Concientizaci\u00f3n sobre la Salud Mental, un buen momento para reflexionar sobre el bienestar emocional de su estudiante. El estr\u00e9s, la ansiedad y las transiciones de fin de a\u00f1o pueden afectar c\u00f3mo se sienten y se desempe\u00f1an los estudiantes. The CE team at CMC has been working hard to run another FAFSA\/CASFA event to help remove barriers to access our Locals’ scholarships (many outside scholarships require this be completed as well).  CMC is currently running a national survey to collect data on our CE student experience.
