We finished our first week and had some great experiences during DisOrientation Week!<\/strong> Students had the opportunity to get to know one another better, connect with the staff who will be working with them, explore careers, and start thinking about the year ahead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some highlights from the week included:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

* Career tours<\/strong> at the Matchless Mine, Heritage Museum, and Boondocks<\/p>\n\n\n\n

* Team-building activities<\/strong> featuring puzzles, LEGOs, archery, other games, and laser tag<\/p>\n\n\n\n

*<\/strong> Opportunities for students to learn more about who they are, their goals, and what they want from the school year ahead<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Student Schedules<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Student schedules have now been finalized. All students are enrolled in a Block 1 course beginning promptly at 8:10 a.m. on Monday, August 17<\/strong>. Please help your student start the year strong by arriving on time and ready to learn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you have questions about your student\u2019s schedule, please reach out to your student\u2019s ACE Success Leader, Ms. Mona, mcloys@lakecountyschools.net or Ms. Cremin, mcremin@lakecountyschools.<\/strong> They should also have sent you an updated copy of your child\u2019s schedule on Thursday, August 13<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Coming Up: NWEA Testing<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Thursday, August 20<\/strong>, we will have our beginning-of-the-school-year NWEA testing<\/strong>. All students should arrive on time and be ready to begin their three exams at 8:10 a.m.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thank you for helping us get the school year off to a great start. We are excited about the community our students and staff are building together and look forward to the year ahead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
