April has come and gone, and we are now entering the month of May. Hard to believe how quickly the year is wrapping up! It has been a busy and productive week here at CCHS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our graduating students have just 17 days of academics remaining until they are scheduled for their Portfolio Defense. This is the final stretch, and we encourage all graduates to stay focused, make every day count, and finish strong. As we head into the final weeks of the school year, consistent attendance is more important than ever for all students. We have seen a decline in attendance recently, and each missed day makes it increasingly difficult for students to stay on track, complete coursework, and meet graduation or promotion goals. Please ensure your student is attending daily, arriving on time, and communicating with the school if there are any barriers. Every day truly matters as we close out the year.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Next week is Teacher Appreciation Week. We will be celebrating our incredible teachers and staff who dedicate countless hours to supporting our students, families, and school community. We encourage students to take a moment to recognize their teachers\u2014whether through a handwritten note, a kind message, or a small token of appreciation. These gestures truly make a difference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A few important upcoming events and reminders:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

* Prom<\/strong>: Saturday, May 2nd at the Elks, for 11th and 12th grade students and their approved guests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

* NWEA Testing<\/strong>: Thursday, May 4th<\/p>\n\n\n\n

~ All students are expected to arrive by 8:25 AM<\/p>\n\n\n\n

~ Students will complete Reading & Writing, Math, and Language exams before lunch<\/p>\n\n\n\n

~ After lunch, we will resume our regular Post-Secondary Prep schedule<\/p>\n\n\n\n

~ A small group of students who earned the reward trip with Talmage will complete their exams earlier in the week (Monday\u2013Wednesday) prior to departing on Thursday<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As always, we appreciate your continued support. Let\u2019s keep the momentum going and make these final weeks meaningful for our students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mental Health Matters This May<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

May is Mental Health Awareness Month\u2014a great time to check in on your student\u2019s emotional well-being. Stress, anxiety, and end-of-year transitions can impact how students feel and perform. The School-Based Health Centers through Elevated Community Health<\/strong> are here to support students with a safe, supportive space and access to care right on campus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Looking ahead to summer, select School-Based Health Centers will remain open<\/strong>, so students can continue receiving care even when school is out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mayo es el Mes de la Concientizaci\u00f3n sobre la Salud Mental, un buen momento para reflexionar sobre el bienestar emocional de su estudiante. El estr\u00e9s, la ansiedad y las transiciones de fin de a\u00f1o pueden afectar c\u00f3mo se sienten y se desempe\u00f1an los estudiantes. Los Centros de Salud Escolar a trav\u00e9s de Elevated Community Health<\/strong> est\u00e1n aqu\u00ed para apoyar a los estudiantes con un espacio seguro y acceso a servicios directamente en la escuela.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The CE team at CMC has been working hard to run another FAFSA\/CASFA event to help remove barriers to access our Locals\u2019 scholarships (many outside scholarships require this be completed as well).\u00a0 CMC is currently running a national survey to collect data on our CE student experience.
