LCES Parent Update 10/22/2021
LCES Families,
We had another great week at LCES and are looking forward to meeting with you for conferences next week on Wednesday, October 27 and Thursday, October 28, from 12:00-8:00pm. Please remember that on these days, we will dismiss at 11:00 am for the regular bus routes and parent pick up. There will be no project dream on these days due to conferences.
Please follow the link below and pick the best date and time for you to meet with your child’s teacher. You will receive a confirmation email – if you do not receive the confirmation email, please check that you have completed all of the steps in setting up your appointment.

Halloween Information:
We plan to host our Healthy Halloween Celebrations on Thursday, October 28th this year. Students are welcome to wear their costume for the entire school day. Costumes must be school appropriate and therefore fake weapons, face masks, and face paints are not allowed. Also, students must wear a face covering to comply with our COVID-19 procedures. Students will have a special Halloween time in their specials classes. Please do not send your child with any food treats on this day. If you would like to send a non-food Halloween treat, such as pencils, erasers, or stickers to be shared with classmates, you may do so, but it is not expected.
Honoring Our Veterans:
Are you or someone in your family a Veteran? We would like to honor all our Veterans at a special community meeting November 11, 2021 at 8:10. We will have a special guest speaker present about our flag and show students how the flag is folded. Parents are welcome to attend.
Parent Volunteers Needed:
Would you like to be part of planning a fun literacy night for all families at LCES and other literacy related activities for families? We are in need of putting together a planning committee that will help lead these fun family activities. Please reach out to Mrs. Pongrekun at kpongrekun@lakecountyschools.net if you are interested in being a part of this team.
Just a reminder that school starts each day at 8:00. If you are dropping a student off after 8:10, please walk them into the front office for a tardy slip. Please do not drop them off in the drop off lane as that door is closed after 8:10. Also, pick up starts around 3:25 each day after buses are dismissed. It really helps the front office and teachers if you are not stopping to pick up your child early as we are finishing up important learning for the day. If you do need to pick up your child early or are changing their after school plans, please let the office know before 2:30 so that we can let teachers and students know with a gold note.
