LCES Parent Update 12/10/2021
LCES Families,
Thank you all for attending our Celebration of Learning and helping us celebrate the hard work students have accomplished over this first semester. We had such a great turn out of parents and families. It was fun to see kids teaching their families what they are learning and having families participate in that work. Here are some highlights from our evening:
We would like to thank Jeff Fiedler, one of our County Commissioners, for coming in to share with our 2nd graders what his role in our community is. He took the time to listen to the students ideas on ways they would like to see our community improved and some safety concerns they brought up. Thanks Jeff for helping our students see that they have a voice in our community! Great job 2nd grade students too for your thoughtful questions and concerns that were presented.
*Smart Bellies:
Smart Bellies, a meal program based out of Summit, is ready to go in Lake County! The program offers nutritious food over the weekends, holidays, and extended breaks to families who have opted in.

*Extra Clothes:
If you have any extra clothes (sizes 4-10) that your child has outgrown that you would like to donate to the school, please bring them to the front office. We keep clothes on hand for students to change into in the event of an accident or spill.
*Mark Your Calendars:
Dress up days:
For the week before winter break, we will be having dress up days!
Monday, December 13: Candy Cane Day (wear red and white)
Tuesday, December 14: Holiday hat/ears day (Santa hats, reindeer ears, etc)
Wednesday, December 15: Ugly Holiday Sweater day
Thursday, December 16: Holiday Pajama day
December 16th will be our PBIS dollar days. For $1 students can purchase a sticky snowflake and a snowman bracelet. The money earned helps us buy prices that students earn weekly for showing the habits of a learner and for other positive behavior rewards. Thanks for your support!
*Health Information:
Did you know we offer COVID testing at school? If you would like to have your child tested, please call Analy or Lynette in the front office to schedule a time. Thank you for continuing to send a mask with your child daily and a back up mask in their backpack.
Thank you all for a great week. We are looking forward to a great last week of the semester before winter break. Please reach out at any time if you have questions or concerns.
