LCES Parent Update 1/7/2022
Thanks for a great first week back from winter break. I hope you all had a great holiday season. It was great having students back in the building this week and engaging in the learning.
As COVID is high within the community right now, we would like to remind everyone to please send your child with a mask each day and keep them home if they are experiencing any symptoms of COVID. Please remember we have tests available at the school office if you would like to have your child tested. Please call the front office in order to schedule an appointment for testing. Thanks so much for helping us keep our students healthy and our school open.
We will start our Middle of Year Acadiance Reading (DIBELS) testing the week of January 10th. This will help us see where students have grown in foundational reading skills and help us target interventions where needed. The results of this testing will be shared with families at our March 2-3rd Parent/Teacher Conferences. While we appreciate you keeping students home when sick, it is important for students to be here for this testing if they are well.
Thanks for sending your child with gear to go outside daily. Please remember to put your child’s name on everything. Also, when you are in the building, please check the lost and found for any missing items. This is located in the hall by the cafeteria.
Smart Bellies, a meal program based out of Summit, is ready to go in Lake County! The program offers nutritious food over the weekends, holidays, and extended breaks to families who have opted in.
