LCES Family Communication 2/24/23
LCES Families,
We had such a fun week celebrating our 100th day of school. We had a lot of 100 year old students and teachers that day and so many students who brought in 100 items to count. It was so much fun to see how students have grown in our first 100 days of school.
We also had a great community meeting on Friday to see the work that 1st grade has been doing and to celebrate our students of the month for Compassion. Here are some highlights:
Parent Teacher Conferences:
Parent teacher conferences will be hosted on March 8th and 9th. Please use the link to sign up with your child’s teacher for a conference time. We look forward to seeing you and sharing your students’ progress in school at this time. Conferences will be held from 12 to 8 pm. School will be dismissed at 11 am. Buses will run their normal routes. Lunch will be served prior to dismissal.
We will not have Project Dream on March 8 or 9 due to conferences. Please call the office to make arrangements for your child’s after school plan. Thank you!

Spring Break Camp Information: Interest letters for Spring Break Camp were sent home with Project Dream students the week of February 6th. If you did not receive one and are interested in your student attending camp, please reach out to the Project Dream Site Supervisor at your child’s school. Thank you!
Joy of Reading: Adventures in Reading
Mark your calendars for our second annual Joy of Reading Literacy Night, March 2nd from 6-7:30 at LCES. PK-6th grade students and their families are invited to come play literacy games, listen to great stories from our guest readers, check out the MLC, get some cotton candy and popcorn, leave with a bag full of free books and literacy activities to do at home. Dress as your favorite book character or author and meet some of your favorite characters. We are excited to see you there!
Dr. Seuss Spirit Week: Please see the flier below regarding our Dr. Seuss Spirit Week. We are excited to celebrate Dr. Seuss’ birthday with these fun planned days.
Parent Volunteer Opportunities:
- We have a lot of materials that need to be prepped for Small Group instruction. If you would like to help teachers out in this way, please reach out to the front office to schedule a time that works for you to come in.
Thank you all for a great week. Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns.
