Principal’s Message
Dear LCHS Families,
As we close out September, we are grateful for the strong start to our school year.
This month has given us several bright spots to celebrate. Our fall athletics and activities are well underway, and we are proud of the teamwork and commitment our students are showing. In the classroom, students are engaging with content, asking thoughtful questions, and beginning to take more ownership of their learning. Teachers have shared that a renewed focus on classroom structure and routines is creating a steady learning environment where students can thrive.
The week of October 6th we will celebrate Homecoming! We encourage students to participate in all the activities that we have to offer from spirit days, floatbuilding, and the 9-12 dance. More information next week!
I am also beginning my Student Focus Groups again this fall. These groups give me a chance to have regular touchpoints with students, hear directly about their experiences at LCHS, and learn what is working well and where we can grow. Their feedback plays an important role in shaping how we continue to move our school forward.
LCHS will also host our first semester Coffee Chat on Wednesday, November 5th, from 10:00AM – 11:00AM. We would love for you to stop by, grab a cup of coffee, hear a quick update on the year, and then walk classrooms to see learning in action. It’s a relaxed way to connect and be part of the school day with us.
Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend,
Scott Carroll

Sports Report:
HS volleyball notched their first win last night against Pinnacle Charter. Although they lost the first 2 sets, they came back to win the last 3 and steal the match. Our golf team hosted tournaments at Mt Massive last weekend. The Panthers finished 2nd as a team, with Arlo Mudge and Jake Cairns placing 4th and 5th individually. 8th grade volleyball was victorious over St Clare and Buena Vista this week.
Middle school boys’ basketball will hold 2 afternoons of open gyms on Monday and Tuesday, October 13 & 14. The open gyms will be held at the LCIS gym from 4-5:30 pm. The season officially begins on Monday, October 20. There will be a parent meeting for MS boys’ basketball on Tuesday, October 21 at LCIS at 5:30 pm. You can find the game schedule on our sports calendar: https://chsaa.rschooltoday.com/public/genie/1518/school/445/date/2025-09-29/view/week/
Mark your calendars for the homecoming parade on Thursday, October 9, beginning at 4:15 pm! Then we hope you’ll come to the HS gym to support our HS volleyball teams as they face off against Ft Lupton. We will also be recognizing our senior volleyball athletes and drama students before the varsity game.
Then homecoming court and float awards will be announced at halftime of our HS boys’ soccer game on Saturday, October 11. The game begins at 11 am; halftime will be approximately 11:40 am. We will also host Plateau Valley for a homecoming football game at 4 pm that same day!
