Senior Scholarships:
Summit Foundation Scholarship:
This scholarship is opens Thursday, February 8th and closes Thursday, February 22nd. Students who work in Summit County or students whose parent works/lives in Summit County are eligible to apply. Must provide the following; scholarship application, FASFA Student Report, college essay, 2 recommendation letters, transcript, test scores, any admission letters, proof of work for self or parent or proof of residency in Summit County. Come see Mrs. Kerrigan to set up your account to apply. If a recipient of this award you would have to communicate to the scholarship foundation directly if you plan to be an Early College Student to hold funds for you until you transfer.
Colorado Masons’ Benevolent Fund: Available to apply for is a Vocational Grant and an Academic Scholarship:
On the application form the deadline to apply says March 15, 2018 but application needs to be complete and ready to submit by February 21st so that the student has time to set up the interview prior to sending the application form in by March 15, 2018. You may come see Mrs. Kerrigan for a paper form or follow the links in your Naviance account to download the application. If a recipient of this award you would have to communicate to the scholarship foundation directly if you plan to be an Early College Student to hold funds for you until you transfer.
Cooper Hill Ski Area:
Four $2,000 scholarships and one $7,000 scholarship. Deadline to apply is March 30th. If a recipient of this award you would have to communicate to the scholarship foundation directly if you plan to be an Early College Student to hold funds for you until you transfer.
Dessie Marie Powell Memorial Scholarship; Colorado Chapter #2 Order of the Eastern Star:
The scholarship can be used for school fees for further educational purposes at an accredited trade school, college, or university. The award for the first year will be $1,000. It is possible that the scholarship award will renew for 3 more years at $500.00 each year, depending upon available funds. Deadline to apply is April 2, 2018. Come pick up a paper application from Mrs. Kerrigan. Climax Molybdenum; A Freeport-McMoRan Company
Freeport McMoRan, supports annual scholarships in the amount of $1,500 each awarded to High School graduation seniors planning to continue their education at a College/University, Vocational or Trade school with priority consideration to students entering STEM and/or mining related career paths including environmental sciences, technical degree programs such as diesel mechanics, truck driving, and trades (electrical/electrician, infrastructure based. The award will be given to the recipient’s High School, in their name, upon submission of proof of enrollment, to be used toward tuition and/or other direct expenses. Deadline to apply is April 13th. Come pick up a paper application from Mrs. Kerrigan. If a recipient of this award you would have to communicate to the scholarship foundation directly if you plan to be an Early College Student to hold funds for you until you transfer.
The Keough Family Foundation; Lake County High School Scholarship:
There are two $2,500 available. Come pick up a paper application from Mrs. Kerrigan or download one from you Naviance account. Deadline to apply is April 15th. If a recipient of this award you would have to communicate to the scholarship foundation directly if you plan to be an Early College Student to hold funds for you until you transfer.
Leadville Boom Days Committee:
The number and amount of the scholarships awarded are at the discretion of the selection committee. This is a one-time scholarship with a maximum value of $1,000. Come pick up a paper application from Mrs. Kerrigan or download one from you Naviance account. Deadline to apply is April 20h. If awarded a scholarship from the Boom Days Committee it must be used during the 2018-2019 school year at a College/University, Vocational or Trade school. Students who are Early College will not be eligible.
Chris Quinn Scholarship; Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks:
The number and amount of the scholarships awarded are at the discretion of the selection committee. This is a one-time scholarship. Come pick up a paper application from Mrs. Kerrigan or download one from you Naviance account. Deadline to apply is April 27h. If awarded a scholarship from the Elks it must be used during the 2018-2019 school year at a College/University, Vocational or Trade school in Colorado. Students who are Early College will not be eligible.
