News from LCHS – Happy Homecoming and Lots More Information!
Hello Parents and Guardians,
This week has been tons of fun with spirit week and we look forward to more games and a dance this weekend for our HS students. Our school is off to a strong start, classrooms look great and students are focused on learning. This last week some rumors came to both us and to law enforcement about some alleged drug use by a very small number students in our community and potentially at school events. This has been a national issue that schools across the country are addressing, and we are grateful to the students and families that made us aware of their concerns. Please know that our doors are always open, and we welcome any information you have that will help us keep students and our schools safe. We have addressed these concerns with law enforcement and will continue to collaborate and investigate all of these rumors and concerns. We follow the best practices for schools in addressing student misconduct and work as hard as we can to keep our school safe and focused on learning. As always, please reach out to me directly if you have questions or concerns.

The Lake County School District has started a facilities master planning process. A master plan is a tool that school districts use to plan for the future of their school buildings and other physical spaces. The LCSD master plan will provide an 8-10 year road map for ensuring that students have safe 21st century learning environments at all levels of learning. The plan will include and be responsive to projections for how the district’s enrollment, priorities and program needs will change over time. You are invited to hear an update on the planning process so far and to provide input on our next steps.
