Parents should be receiving an email and link from Panorama Education to take a survey about our school. We want to continually improve and grow as a school and would love your feedback on how to best meet your goals for your students. Thank you for completing the survey!
Seventh and eighth grade health students will be going through a vaping curriculum next week. Watch for a parent information sheet to be sent home soon.
Every week in community meeting we cover a range of topics as well as our announcements and shout outs. This week some students will be sharing about transgendered students and how to make sure they feel safe and welcomed in our school community. Mr. Cairns will also share a bit about LCSD’s bullying policies and policies around transgendered students. Feel free to contact him if you have questions. Students are always welcomed to contact Mr. Cairns or Ms. Dillon if they want to share something in community meeting or make announcements.
Full Circle’s Active Parenting of Teens class begins on January 7th. See the attached flyers in Spanish and English for details.
Lake County School Board Notes for November
The Board of Education celebrated the passing of the bond to build a new PreK-2 school at the November meeting. We certified the bond with joy and excitement. Thank you to our community and to all of our campaign volunteers. This is an exciting moment for Lake County School District as we begin to write the next chapter.
We also welcomed a new board member, Rod Weston, who brings uncommon experience to the school board. He was a superintendent of schools in Vermont and in New Mexico and is a passionate advocate for the children of Lake County. Welcome Rod!
And we said good-bye to outgoing board member Stephanie McBride. During her four years in office, Stephanie was an accomplished and thoughtful member of the board. She crafted the board’s teaching and learning policy, aided the board with her expertise in housing and property valuation, and exemplified the best of what a board member can be. Thank you, Stephanie!
