Amazing Opportunity for LCHS Students through ESCI!
Amazing opportunity for LCHS students! Launching this August, the Environmental Science and Climate Institute (ESCI) is a year-long program created in collaboration by Lyra Colorado, Fort Lewis College, Empower Schools and six Colorado school districts (Archuleta, Bayfield, Durango, Ignacio, Lake County and Silverton). Applications for the exciting new program are now live and will be accepted through Friday, July 10th.
The program is geared towards rising 8th, 9th, 10th and 11th graders who are interested in learning more about the surrounding climate and environment. The program is free for students, starting with a three-day Summer Institute in SW Colorado. Each day, students will participate in outdoor experiential learning sessions, forming teams with other Colorado students and teachers to develop a project for the 2020-2021 school year. We are incredibly excited to launch this program and hope you will consider participating in what will be a transformative learning experience for our youth. The application can be found here.
