News From LCHS 9/9/2021
Dear LCHS Parents & Guardians,
Our Cornerstone Day is tomorrow! Please make sure your child has everything they need to have a fun and safe day outdoors with their crew. You should have received this handout from your child regarding what to bring. Ensure they dress appropriately, bring water and sunscreen, and be prepared to have lots of fun!
The first Coffee Talk of the year is next week on Thursday, September 16th at 9am. We’ll meet in the cafeteria of the school. It is open to all adults who have a child at the school or work and live in our community. I’m excited to tell you all about what is going on at LCHS, answer your questions, and see some of our classrooms! Light refreshments will be provided and interpretation will be available. Please be sure to wear a mask.
We are continuing to wear masks at the high school. The data tells us that community spread is high, and we know this layer of protection is important to preventing the spread of COVID-19 in our school. Additionally, if we do have a positive COVID case in our school, we will contact trace like last year and notify you if your child has had an exposure. However, if your child was wearing a mask (which everyone is), then they are NOT required to quarantine for 14 days due to that exposure. Consequently, not only will masks help us keep everyone healthy, but they will keep us running as a school!
Finally, please be on the lookout for communication about tutoring for your child through Project Dream. They are supporting our students with programming after school and on Fridays. Additionally, Project Dream with LCSD and Full Circle are hosting a series of family events this year. These events are for students grades K-12 and will be held at LCES. Check out our themes in the attached flier and join us for one or all!
Thank-you for all you do as pivotal members of our LCHS family!
Best,
Erin M. Dillon
(she/her/hers)
LCHS Interim Principal
