News From LCHS 6/3/22
Good afternoon Lake County Family,
This week has been action packed and full of excitement. Tomorrow our seniors graduate from LCHS so please join us in sending them off. We only have two more weeks of school. That means that we only have two weeks to make sure your students have chosen the classes you want them to attend, and to also make sure your students are ready for finals. Next week our HS students will be visiting CMC’s campus to gain an understanding of what it is like to live on a college campus. This should be a wonderful experience, getting our students exposed to the rigors of college. Thank you all for all of the support you have shown our students this year!
Thank you!
Brian Nelson
LCHS Principal
Summer School Details: Summer school for 7th and 8th graders will be held from June 13th to June 30th, Monday through Thursday from 9am to 12pm. Students who are required to attend summer school must be in attendance every day as a part of their promotion requirement. Transportation will be provided to and from school. Once grades are closer to be finalized, we will send home written communication to every family whose student must attend. If you are wondering about your child’s status, please call the school to get more information.
A Message From FBLA
The Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) club at LCHS is sponsoring Financial Literacy night for students, parents, and community members.

These will take place in the LCHS Library. Food, translation, interpretation, and child care available.
CMC Visits: We continue to strengthen our partnership with CMC to provide more opportunities and choices for our students. Many of our students take CMC classes their Junior and Senior years to get both high school and college credit (at no expense!). For students to gain familiarity with CMC and college in general, our current 9th-11th graders will be spending a day on the CMC campus next week. The field trip for Freshman is on Tuesday, June 7th. 10th and 11th graders will go on Wednesday, June 8th. Lunch will be provided by CMC in their cafeteria. Please reach out to the school if you have any questions.
7th and 8th Grade Cornerstones: The 7th and 8th graders will have their end of year cornerstone experience on Thursday, June 9th. They will be participating in outdoor activities on the CMC campus and at the community field for most of the day. Please be sure your child wears appropriate activewear, as well as bring a water bottle and sunscreen!
8th Grade Celebration Ceremony: This Thursday, June 9th from 6:30-7:30pm, we will be holding our 8th Grade Celebration Ceremony in the LCHS auditorium. We are excited to spotlight our 8th graders and their various accomplishments! The 8th graders should dress to impress! Refreshments will be provided in the cafeteria following the ceremony. Please keep in mind that grades will not be finalized at this time. The celebration ceremony does not signify promotion.
Finals Week: Finals for students grades 7-11 will take place the week of June 13th. Finals are an important aspect of our academic program. They establish and maintain high expectations for student learning and performance. Finals are also one way students demonstrate their learning for the year and readiness for the next grade level. Please ensure you do not make plans this week. Students must be in attendance. We will only excuse absences for unique circumstances, and it will need to be approved by an administrator. We will not excuse finals themselves. If students miss finals for unexcused reasons, they will be given zero credit. If students miss for excused reasons, they must take their finals on Friday, June 10th with school administration from 8am to 1pm. Thank you for helping us maintain a high academic standard.
Athletics:
Parents Please note that our regular sports seasons have ended. Please have your student athlete return their uniforms to the front office as fines will start being assessed by coaches.
Thank you!
