Good morning LCHS family!
Happy holidays from all of us here at LCHS. We hope you all have a wonderful time off with your families. Please stay safe and be careful in your travels. Please know that if you need any support over the break, I will be here in town and I will be checking email. I can put you in touch with resources that are available while school is out!

Athletics:
Lake County High School, in partnership with Project Dream, will be offering a trial season of Esports this spring! Esports is a growing CHSAA co-ed activity that takes video gaming to another level with organized competitive gameplay between 2 high schools. It demands critical thinking, communication, teamwork, and creativity in order for students to succeed. Practice/competition will be after school from 4-6 pm, probably on Mondays and Wednesdays. No travel involved. Interested students should sign up in the library with Project Dream or they can email me at apeters@lakecountyschools.net.
High school ELIGIBILITY IS CHANGING!! In order to align with the CHSAA policies for eligibility, we will be changing the way that we handle eligibility, beginning with the new semester. We will run eligibility EVERY WEEK, and if you are on the ineligible list, you will have to sit out of competition for the entire next week. There will be no more appeals for high school students. Middle school eligibility will continue to work as it has been. Please reach out if you have any questions about the change.
As we wrap up the semester, we have much to be proud of with our Panther athletics! All 4 of our fall sports teams made the postseason. The XC girls repeated as state champions, while Jace Peters finished as the 2nd fastest man in 2A. The boys’ soccer team won the first game of their postseason tournament and lost a heartbreaker to the eventual 2A state champions, Vail Mountain. Despite losing one of their better players early in the season, the girls’ volleyball team made the postseason with an outstanding record of 19-4. Our ski teams are bigger than ever, and our basketball teams are off to a strong start, with the varsity boys’ beating Buena Vista in their first competition. It’s a great time to be a Panther, and I look forward to an excellent 2nd semester!
Happy Holidays!!
LET’S GO PANTHERS!!
