News From LCHS 05/12/23
Good Morning Lake County,
This week LCHS hosted the Girls High School Soccer team in an exhibition game against the faculty. We were outmatched. That being said, we have some amazing athletes on our staff, and we put up a good fight. Last weekend’s prom was a huge success. The students had a great time and represented themselves wonderfully.
As we approach the end of the year please be aware that any students who need to make emergency arrangements for finals must notify the school administration by May 26th. A committee will review the requests and make decisions on a case-by-case basis.
If you are the parent of a Senior please click HERE for information regarding graduation!
Thank you,

Should School Board members be paid? We want to hear from you. |
The State of Colorado passed a new law (HB21-1055) that allows for a district to consider paying future School Board Members. The Lake County School Board sees the benefit in allowing pay for board members to recruit and attract community members who may otherwise have financial barriers to serving on the Board. We would like to hear your thoughts on the idea of compensating school board members. Please provide your input by May 15. You are also invited to share your input during public participation at upcoming school board meetings. These meetings are held the second and fourth Monday of the month at 6:30PM at the District Administration Office (315 W. 5th Street). We appreciate your input. |

Athletics:
Our middle school soccer teams wrap up their season on Saturday at Berry Creek Middle School. The girls will play at 9:50 am. If they win, they will play at 2:30 pm. If they win that 2nd game, they will play in the championship game at 4:50 pm. The boys will play at 11:00 am. If the boys win, they will play at 3:40 pm. Their bracket is smaller, so 2 games is the most that the boys will play.
