News From LCHS 11/01/24
Dear LCHS Families,
As we wrap up week 12 of the school year, I continue to reflect on our incredible students, staff, and families. While walking through classrooms this week, I’ve seen powerful interactions with students diving into learning and teachers challenging them to think deeply. Let’s keep this energy going as we approach the end of the first semester. We have great potential, and I look forward to seeing our growth. We will be sharing more information about finals and end-of-semester events in the coming weeks.
Highlights
- CSU Pueblo visited and gave a presentation on their college to our 11/12 students.
- Our students who are doing Climax internships will start next week.
- Many students had fantastic costumes!

Sports Report: The HS cross country girls dominated their regional meet last Friday, winning by 30 points! The boys’ team, who entered the meet ranked 5th, finished 2nd and qualified for State! Both teams compete in Colorado Springs on Friday at the State Championship.
8th grade boys’ basketball edged out Homestake Peak to win their first game of the season. They host Gypsum Creek MS on Monday and Eagle County Charter Academy on Thursday. Please come out and support the teams!
As we wrap up the fall sports seasons, I am inviting parent and student input on how our programs are doing and ways that we can improve. If you are a parent of a high school fall sports athlete, please watch for a survey link. I’d appreciate your feedback!
The middle school girls’ basketball season will run from December 9 through February 7, but the team is holding open gyms on Sundays from 4-6 pm at the LCIS gym. Email msgirlsbasketball@lakecountyschools.net for more information.
Let’s GO PANTHERS!!

A message from our Drama Department
Auditions for The Spring Musical and the Winter One Act Festival are open for submissions! See the QR code or use the link here to access the form where you will submit a video audition.
The selection of the musical will not be announced until after auditions and will be based on participation.
Remember, there are LIMITED 3rd-5th grade slots. The Spring Musical is a LCHS production that sometimes has the need for younger students. Participating in the audition process is a great experience and prepares students for future auditions. Backstage Crew interviews will not be until the spring for both productions.
The Winter One Act Festival is only open for 7th-12th grade students. These productions will also be announced after auditions.
Nov. 5 All Video submissions must be sent-no late submissions will be accepted
