Dear LCHS Parents & Guardians,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s unfortunate that we needed to cancel the principal candidate meet and greet scheduled for today. I remain confident that we will find the right person to lead our school. We will keep you updated on the next opportunity to engage and be a part of the process! We are committed to getting your input along the way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a reminder, next week we do have school on Monday and Tuesday. Then, we are closed for the rest of the week for Thanksgiving break. Also, I wanted to remind you that finals are on Wednesday, December 15th and Thursday, December 16th. It’s important that your child is in attendance on both those days. Finals count toward 15% of a student’s final grade in each class.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Enjoy the weekend and the short week ahead. I hope you’re able to count all your blessings and get extra time with loved ones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Upcoming Concert Information!: <\/strong>Tuesday, December 7th<\/sup> and Thursday, December 9th<\/sup> will be when our performing arts concerts will take place this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

7:00 pm Instrumental Concert<\/strong>:  On Dec. 7th<\/sup>, all 5th<\/sup>-12th<\/sup> grade LCSD students who are in Band, Drumline, and Piano\/Guitar will be in this concert.  Performers need to show up at 6:15 and need to wear black and\/or white.  Festive accessories are allowed such as Santa hats or reindeer antlers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

7:15 pm Vocal Concert:<\/strong>  On Dec. 9th<\/sup>, all 3rd<\/sup> Grade students, all 4th<\/sup> grade students, and all students in Choir 5th<\/sup>-12th<\/sup> grade will be in this concert.  Performers need to show up at 6:30. Dress in Black, White, Red or Green and holiday clothing is encouraged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Performers in both concerts will be required to wear masks during transitions and when not performing, but on stage right before performance will remove masks for optimal playing and singing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Audience attendees will be asked to wear masks as there will be no social distancing.  We anticipate a very full auditorium both evenings. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you are not comfortable with your child performing, please let the school know.  Attendance will not be required, but make-up assignments will be given for 5th<\/sup>-12th<\/sup> grade students for grading purposes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

6th-8th Grade Games at LCIS:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

 We have decided to make some changes with attendance at our 6-8 games at LCIS. Given the age of our students we are going to require that all students attending the game are with an adult. If students arrive without an adult they will not be allowed to attend the games at LCIS. We are making this change to ensure more supervision and that everyone is being safe and respectful at all times.

Family Learning Institute <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We will be offering a family learning institute each month and all students and families are invited to attend! The sessions will be held at LCES.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Complimentary Webinar: School Refusal<\/strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This virtual event is for parents of school-age children<\/strong> grades fifth to 12th, who are seeking solutions <\/strong>for youth demonstrating school refusal<\/strong>, poor academic performance and learning disabilities in combination with complex psychiatric, emotional, and behavioral health issues related to anxiety, depression, ADD\/ADHD, executive functioning disorder, trauma, and family conflict.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

When you think you’ve tried everything<\/strong>, are feeling overwhelmed<\/strong> and not sure how to help your child<\/strong>, this event will clarify<\/strong> the inter-related complexities of mental health issues, social isolation, and poor academic performance. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eligibility Checks:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We pulled grades on all grades for students 9-12. Any student who failed classes Spring semester of 2021 school year will be ineligible until the official eligibility dates. At which time students must not be failing any classes. They can still participate in winter sports and go to practice, but they cannot compete.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
