Testing has been steady and good, with high levels of participation, and good behavior from our students. We have many Spring sports coming up soon. If you would like to find out more about Spring sports, please contact Amy Peters.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If your child is attending the Choir\/Band Trip to Southern California March 7-12, there is a mandatory parent meeting on Tuesday, February 28<sup>th<\/sup> at 7:00 pm in the Choir room to sign paperwork and get last minute information.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Parents, please remember that nobody is on campus at the high school prior to 7:30. Ella Bullock won both Nordic races at the CHSAA state meet last week, and Jace Peters won in the classic discipline! In addition to Bullock and Peters, Brynna Lenhard was named to the 1<sup>st<\/sup> Team All-State Nordic Team, and Josiah Horning was honored as part of the 2<sup>nd<\/sup> Team All-State list. Rowynn Slivka made the 1<sup>st<\/sup> Team All-State Slalom Team for Alpine, and Karl Remsen was named Nordic Coach of the Year!!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>THANK YOU<\/strong> to those of you who came out to support the HS girls\u2019 basketball team on Tuesday!! They were victorious against Bruce Randolph and have solidified their position as one of the top 4 3A teams of the Frontier League. The boys\u2019 team held on to the top 3A spot and had a bye on Tuesday. Both teams will compete at Arvada High School this weekend in the District Tournament.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>HS boys\u2019 volleyball<\/strong> is underway, but it isn\u2019t too late to join the team! Practices will be 6-8 pm in the LCHS gym next week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>HS Girls\u2019 Soccer and HS Co-ed Track &amp; Field <\/strong>will begin practices on <strong>Monday<\/strong>, February 27! Please <strong>make sure that your athlete\u2019s physical is up to date<\/strong>, so they are ready for the beginning of the season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Community Service Hours Opportunity for students or adults: <\/strong>St. Vincent Health and the Leadville Lions Club will be hosting the 365 Health Fair on April 29<sup>th<\/sup>. They have many non-medical positions that they need help filling such as: traffic support, food area, and set up\/break down. They need volunteers onsite from the hours of 7am-2pm, and it\u2019s going to be located in the gym at Lake County Elementary School, 130 West 12<sup>th<\/sup> St., Leadville, CO. If callers are prompted to leave a voicemail, please do so and include what program they are asking about. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>More information will be available in the coming weeks on the County Website, flyers posted around the community, within the Herald Democrat, and through direct mailing. It provides a monthly benefit that helps families and individuals buy the food they need for good health. SNAP is part of a federal nutrition program to help low-income households purchase food.&nbsp; &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What is SNAP Max Allotment? <\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Colorado Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) households have been getting an extra amount of benefits every month because of the COVID-19 pandemic since March 2020. These extra benefits are called \u201cEmergency Allotments or Max Allotments\u201d and most households have been getting them in addition to their regular SNAP benefits.
