Research from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.schoolsthatlead.org\/blog\/how-attendance-affects-student-achievement?\">Schools That Lead<\/a> highlights how regular attendance supports stronger study habits, better grades, and greater confidence in class. When students are present and engaged, they build momentum that carries through the semester.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our middle school students in grades 7\u20138 continue to set a strong example, maintaining attendance above 90 percent. For grades 9\u201312, this is a great time to renew that same commitment. We want students here each day, learning in community, asking questions, and building strong connections with their teachers and classmates. Families can help by reviewing PowerSchool together, planning ahead when absences are unavoidable, and encouraging students to reach out if they need support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please consider filling our short <strong>Conference Feedback Form (<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/forms.gle\/fXUR94zMMDucHRVD9\"><strong>English<\/strong><\/a><strong> \/ <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/forms.gle\/pe4n7shL5UCd85cM8\"><strong>Spanish<\/strong><\/a><strong>). <\/strong>This data continues to help us improve experiences for families at LCHS.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We\u2019re also looking forward to connecting with families at our next <strong>Parent Coffee Chat<\/strong> on <strong>Wednesday, November 5th<\/strong>, from <strong>10:00AM &#8211; 11:00AM<\/strong>. This will be a chance to hear from administrators and support staff, ask questions, and visit a few classrooms to see learning in action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As we move through the last half of the semester, let\u2019s keep encouraging students to show up, stay curious, and give their best effort. We want every student to feel that they belong here and that their presence matters. When students are in class, engaged with their peers and teachers, real growth happens. Here are the guidelines for this:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Costumes should not disrupt instruction and\/or limit participation in the school day.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Toy weapons, sharp objects, or items that could be mistaken for real weapons are not allowed.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fake blood is not allowed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Full-face masks, excessive face paint, or coverings that make it hard to identify students are not allowed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Sports Report:<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>11 mountain bike team members competed in the state championships last weekend. They were awarded the honor of Team of the Year for Division 2 for their sportsmanship, volunteer efforts, and enthusiasm! Finnley Stanek was the top finisher, placing 10th in the JV girls\u2019 race. We had 2 other top 20 finishes: Hattie Mallozzi took 13th in freshman girls, and Arlo Mudge placed 16th in JV boys.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Lady Panther XC team won their regional, and the boys\u2019 team took 3rd!! The&nbsp; survey asks students about health topics including unintentional injuries and violence; mental health; school safety;&nbsp; substance use; physical activity and nutrition; sexual behavior (optional); and risk and protective factors.&nbsp; The survey process protects your student\u2019s privacy, and no information is collected that can identify an individual student. Only your child will know how they answer.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The survey results will help your school, community groups, and state health agencies to plan programs and services for&nbsp; youth. Students receive the survey during class time and are instructed to answer the questions or skip any question they don\u2019t&nbsp; understand or don\u2019t feel comfortable answering.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you prefer that your student does not take the survey, please complete the attached opt-out form and return to the school\u2019s front office <strong>by Tuesday, October 28th<\/strong>. Based on the Academy Award-winning animated feature film, Disney\u2019s Frozen includes all the film\u2019s beloved songs by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, along with new music written exclusively for the stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the beautiful mountainous kingdom of Arendelle, Princesses Anna and Elsa grow up sheltered inside their castle, isolated from the world and increasingly distant from each other. When Elsa is crowned queen, the magical powers she\u2019s desperately tried to conceal from her sister take control, and she flees into the mountains. As a ferocious winter descends on Arendelle, Anna sets off on an epic journey to find Elsa and bring her home \u2013 with the help of hardworking ice harvester Kristoff, his loyal reindeer Sven, and a happy-go-lucky snowman named Olaf.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Auditions for this production are open to grades 5-12 and will be a combination of both virtual submissions and in-person callbacks. Virtual submission of a 30-60-second song and monologue will be due <strong>Thursday, November 20<\/strong><strong><sup>th<\/sup><\/strong>. Songs from the musical DISNEY\u2019S FROZEN will not be accepted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For students selected for the in-person callback session this will be held from <strong>4:00PM \u2013 6:30PM<\/strong> on <strong>Wednesday, December 3<\/strong><strong><sup>rd<\/sup><\/strong>. We anticipate that the final cast list will be posted after school on Thursday, December 4<sup>th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Full of magic, humor, and a stunning musical score, Frozen is a powerful tale of sisterhood, acceptance, and finding the real meaning of true love.
