LCIS Spelling Bee
Lake county Intermediate School hosted its annual Spelling Bee on Wednesday, February 3, and will be sending a student to the Colorado State Spelling Bee on March 12th at the University of Denver.
Students started their path to the Spelling Bee in their classrooms with their English Language Arts teachers. The top two spellers from each ELA class in grades 3 through 6 were invited to attend the School-wide Spelling Bee in front of a larger audience. All community members were invited to attend, and the parents of the contestants were given a special invitation to come and support their child. The students met the challenge and were very impressive.
We would like to send a special thank you to Dolores Semsack, Lake County Commissioner, for being a guest Spelling Bee judge. Ms. Kim Kortkamp organized our bee and made the event a success – thank you!
