LCIS SNSO 12/8/19
Dear LCIS Families,
Our Winter Concert is this week on Wednesday, December 11 at 6:30. Students will need to arrive at 6pm to prepare for the concert. We’re looking forward to seeing you all there!
We are so thankful for your continued partnership and your support. Throughout the year you may need to connect with your child’s teacher. The best way is through emailing your child’s teacher directly, calling the main office and leaving a message with our secretaries, or using the system that your child’s teacher has set up, such as Remind. If you’d like to meet with your child’s teacher in person, please call ahead to set up a time that works best for both of you. Interpretation can also be requested for these meetings as needed.
To encourage kids to get outdoors and explore our public lands, every 4th grader can earn a pass for free entrance to national parks and for a free Christmas Tree permit! You need only to complete a quick virtual tour at www.everykidoutdoors.gov and then bring the printed voucher to the Leadville or Salida Ranger District Office. Tree permits are available until December 24th, 2019. Letters went home with 4th graders this week with more details about this program and we have attached one here.

Lake County School Board Notes for November The Board of Education celebrated the passing of the bond to build a new Pre-K school at the November meeting. We certified the bond with joy and excitement. Thank you to our community and to all of our campaign volunteers. This is an exciting moment for Lake County School District as we begin to write the next chapter.
We also welcomed a new board member, Rod Weston, who brings uncommon experience to the school board. He was a superintendent of schools in Vermont and in New Mexico and is a passionate advocate for the children of Lake County. Welcome Rod!
And we said good-bye to outgoing board member Stephanie McBride. During her four years in office, Stephanie was an accomplished and thoughtful member of the board. She crafted the board’s teaching and learning policy, aided the board with her expertise in housing and property valuation, and exemplified the best of what a board member can be. Thank you, Stephanie!
