LCIS SNSO 4-19-20
Hello LCIS Families,
We hope that all of you are healthy, safe and warm! Our teachers have enjoyed connecting with your children through the Google classrooms. It s been great to see student work and teachers are so happy to be able to give feedback and support your child s learning. If your child is still in need of a device, please reach out to either your child s teacher or the LCIS main office to coordinate getting a Chromebook.
On Monday, April 20th, all current 4th and 5th grade students will be receiving an assignment on their Google classroom from their specials teachers to choose their specials classes for the fall of 2020. Please have your student choose their top choices for next year. If you are unable to access this document on Google classroom, there will be hard copies available at the next distance learning packet pickup day on April 27, 2020. Further information about classes will be communicated at orientation in August. Any questions can be directed to the specials teachers via the following e-mail addresses:
Celesta Cairns – Music – ccairns@lakecountyschools.net
Amanda Good – Art – agood@lakecountyschools.net
Kevin Teesdale – P.E. – kteesdale@lakecountyschools.net
You may also leave a message at the LCIS main office (719-486-6830) and someone will return your call within 24 hours or on the next business day.
In order to stay more connected and show our LCIS crew spirit during our school closure, we are hosting an event that allows participation from home by sharing photos each week! We will do our best to post as many photos as possible on the LCSD Facebook page and on the LCSD website. Please email your submissions to Tracy at tvincent@lakecountyschools.net. We will announce the theme each week in our Sunday Night Shout Out.
Here is our first event: April 20 – April 24 What cha Reading? Week – In honor of National Library week, send us a photo of what you’re reading!
For students who are currently using a LCIS Chromebook, please remember that if you have any problems with it, you can email helpdesk@lakecountyschools.net for support.

Tutors are now available-in English and Spanish- for everyone in our community, including k-12 students and families. Use the Community Support and Apoya Comunitario tabs.
On the same page, Elementary Resources and High School Resources have links to all kinds of resources from the CMC databases that are now free for public use.
If you haven’t yet had a chance to fill out the 2020 Census, please do so here! 2020 US Census
We expect the spring group and individual photos to arrive in Leadville sometime next week. Families should be able to pick up the photo packages that they purchased on the next distance learning packet pickup day, April 27, 2020.
As always, please do not hesitate to reach out to your child s teacher or call our front office for any additional support. Lake County Build a Generation has also provided a form you can fill out if you are seeking volunteer opportunities or additional support. You can find these on their website at http://lcbag.org/
Lake County Public Health Agency, Office of Emergency Management, Wraparound, and Solvista Health have partnered to establish a “pulse” survey to monitor where our community is in dealing with all that is happening right now. The link bit.ly/LakeSolvista takes you directly to the survey; it can be toggled to Spanish from that landing page.
It s ~3 minutes to complete, anonymous, and informs how Solvista and other agencies respond to our local community emotional health vibe.
Solvista will use themes from this survey to provide more targeted health information and customize messaging and resources in response to how Lake County respondents are feeling.
These messages/resources will be shared out across the Lake County community on a weekly basis throughout the COVID-19 situation and recovery period, as appropriate.
Solvista professional staff also monitor the survey responses to assess need for crisis services.
The survey can be completed more than once by a respondent, as their feelings/attitudes shift over time.
