LCIS SNSO 8-16-20
Hello LCIS Families!
Thank you so much for your continued support and patience as we work through the details of education for the 2020-2021 school year. We have had unique challenges this year, and your participation in the Zoom meetings and the surveys has been invaluable. We are now ready to move forward with plans for beginning school in the Yellow Colorband for students who wish to attend school in person 2 days per week and for the students who will be learning virtually.
Our teachers and staff have been working hard this week to balance student numbers across each grade level in order to create a safe learning environment for both learners and leaders. We have also been planning how best to support our virtual learners. We are excited to move forward to the next step – meeting with families!
Orientation conferences for students in K-12, will take place the week of August 24–27 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. each of the four days. This extension allows for one hour meetings with the teachers and families. LCSD will be sharing your crew leader information and a link to sign up for a new conference. Here is the link if you you already know who your crew teacher is: https://www.flashappointments.com/client/lgn/mobile.cfm?busId=13089
We can’t wait to see you – even though we will all be wearing masks!
We will have a Lifetouch photographer here during the orientation conferences. Please stop by and have your child’s photo taken for their ID, for the yearbook, and for our student records. Photo packages will also be available to commemorate this very distinctive school year.
Daily meals will continue through the 28th of August for families.
Athletics for the 2020-2021 school year will look a little different this year. In order to follow the recently released CHSSA guidelines, the only fall sport that LCSD will offer is Cross Country Running The basketball athletes and the skiers will be able to begin practice in early January. We will have soccer and volleyball practice beginning in March of 2021. All of these sports will take place based on coaching availability for our 6th graders. Thank you for your patience as we all learn to stay active and safe at the same time!
Please see the attached information from the Public Health Department regarding vaccines! Incoming 6th graders are required to have a TDAP booster.
