LCIS SNSO 10/11/20
Hello LCIS Families,
Beginning on October 12 all LCIS students will be able to come to school Monday through Thursday thanks to our new hybrid LCIS/Project Dream partnership!
All students will receive their classroom academics every day from their teachers!
- A-day students will now be referred to as Cohort A and these students will receive their academics in the morning from 7:45-12:05. Then they will transition to the Project Dream programming for the afternoon. Many of these activities will take place off site (away from LCIS). If you need to pick up your child early, please plan ahead by calling Blanca Rodriguez by 12:00 at (719) 293-0115.
- B-day students will now be referred to as Cohort B and these students will receive their academics in the afternoon from 12:05-3:30. They will participate in Project Dream activities in the morning from 7:45-12:05. All of their activities will be on site (at LCIS)
- We look forward to seeing all of the students all day, every day! If you choose for your child to not participate in the Project Dream portion of the day, please call the school office at (719) 486-6830.
- As always, you are welcome to reach out to Cheryl Talbot, principal of LCIS, at ctalbot@lakecountyschools.net or at 719-486-6830 with your questions.
Fall conferences will take place this year on Wednesday, October 28th and Thursday, October 29th from 12:00-8:00pm both days. Please use the link to sign up! Please note that the first question will ask if you would like to attend your child’s conference in person or virtually. Conference letters will come home this week.

Keep Reading! Sadie from the Lake County Public Library came to LCIS on Monday and Tuesday last week. She rode the Leadville “bibliobici” down the Mineral Belt Trail to give free books to the 3rd graders. They have been reading and learning about children living in remote places around the world who get books from mobile libraries on boats, burros, camels, and elephants.
Thank you Sadie and Lake County Public Library for giving LCIS 3rd graders free books from the Leadville Book Bike – the Bibliobici!
Picture Retakes: Lifetouch will be here for picture re-takes the week. Students from the A cohorts will have their photos taken Monday afternoon and students from the B cohort groups will have their photos taken on Tuesday morning.
