LCIS SNSO 11/15/20
Hello LCIS Families,
The change to “RED” remote learning came suddenly to us all this past week. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we make this transition. We are thankful that the vast majority of our students and staff remain safe and healthy. We appreciate all that you are doing to keep your family safe by continuing to follow the social distancing procedures while outside of school.
Hopefully you and your child had some time to look over the materials that they brought home. If you haven’t already, please help them set up a work space. Your child’s teacher will be reaching out on Monday or Tuesday to share a school schedule for the next two weeks which will include online lessons. We expect virtual learning to begin on Wednesday. If you have multiple children engaged with online learning in your home at the same time, you may want to consider having them use headphones so that they can better focus on their work.
If you experience challenges of any sort while virtual learning, please do not hesitate to call the school office during our regular hours Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. We will be able to brainstorm solutions to internet availability and offer support for questions about lessons. If your child’s device is not working properly please contact the helpdesk@lakecountyschools.net .
We will not hold specials and explore classes for these two weeks. These teachers may contact your child to suggest enrichment activities. In the meanwhile, we encourage you and your child to take some time to get outside everyday and enjoy the fresh air.
Meal distribution will begin on Monday, 11/16/20, at 11am. The current plan for distribution will follow the procedures that were used in the spring of 2020. If you have any questions, please reach out to the LCIS Family Connectors: Margarita Perea at 719-204-3641 (speaks Spanish) or Lisa Prout at 719-204-6436.
The LCIS safety upgrade is here! Cameras have been installed that cover most of the exterior of the building including the playground. A few cameras have been added to the interior to cover the front entry and the gym. These cameras will capture video and audio recordings.
