LCIS SNSO 12/6/20
Hello LCIS Families,
It’s been wonderful to be back in school with our students this past week. Our fifth grade cohorts did move to RED: Remote Learning on Thursday and will continue in RED next week. Luckily all of our teachers and students had the opportunity to practice remote learning before Thanksgiving break and we were able to easily transition to virtual school on Thursday.
We know that transitioning between YELLOW and RED can be disruptive for families, especially because when we need to make these changes they often happen quite quickly. We appreciate your flexibility and understanding as we respond to the challenges of COVID-19 and follow protocols to keep our students and staff safe. Please continue to read the updates sent out by the district so that you may stay informed on any changes that will be made.
We appreciate that you and your family continue to follow all of the Covid 19 guidelines, both in school and out, so that we can continue to keep our community safe and continue to learn in person. Hand washing, face coverings, social distancing, and staying home when you are sick all allow us to stay together in our building.
Are you interested in supporting our students by reading one-on-one with them or by working with a small group of students? Please join the Parent Mentor Program through Full Circle. This a wonderful partnership between LCSD and Full Circle and we encourage you learn more about it to see if it’s a good fit for you!
The U.S. Forest Service is again offering free Christmas Tree permits for the families of our 4th and 5th graders. These students are also eligible to receive a free pass to all of the National Parks in Colorado through the Every Kid Outdoors program. To participate in these programs, you must first obtain a voucher from this website: www.everykidoutdoors.gov and then you may request a tree permit from this site: www.recreation.gov/tree-permits/psicc Please watch for a letter to come home with your child.
Reading is Awesome!
