LCIS FASO 3-5-21
Hello LCIS Families,
Thank you for attending conferences this week! Students and teachers were excited to talk about the growth and progress happening at LCIS, even in a virtual format. At the end of the conference, teachers were able to share information regarding the possibility of changing to 100% full day, in-person school for grades PreK-5. Please click on this link to watch a video and take a survey so that we can understand what you’d like to see happen for your child’s education this spring. This will take a total of 5 minutes. Thank you for giving your input. Please take the survey so that we can understand what you’d like to see happen for your child’s education this spring.
You may reach out to the main office at 719-486-6830 or Cheryl Talbot, the principal of LCIS, with any questions. ctalbot@lakecountyschools.net
Spring Photos are this Wednesday! Both individual and class group photos will be taken and available to order. Please watch for the order form to come home on Monday – there was a glitch in the mailing system. You may also order online by going to the Lifetouch website.
Our annual Snowpalooza is scheduled for March 17th and 18th. Students will get to play outdoors during their Project Dream time using the equipment provided by GOL. They will snowshoe and Nordic ski and have hot cocoa during their 1 ½ hour scheduled time. We are so excited to continue this tradition with the help of our partners in GOL and Project Dream! Please send your student with a warm coat, gloves, snow pants and boots!

Sports Update: Like everything else this year, our sports seasons have been modified to help keep our students safe and healthy. We are so thankful that we have been able to allow our students at least a small window of participation in athletics this year. We have just completed a shortened girls’ basketball season and we are headed into the volleyball and girls’ soccer seasons. Thank you so much for supporting our student athletes – we are looking forward to and hoping for longer seasons next year!
- Girls’ Volleyball 1st practice is 3/29/21 Season ends 4/12/21 Coach Kala Matzdorf
- Girls’ Soccer 1st practice is 3/15/21 Season ends 5/15/21 Coach Julie Guzman
- MS Boys’ Soccer not offered through the school district this year
- MS Track practice will start at the end of April
Since these two sports seasons are running at the same time, the girls can play on both teams. The games won’t conflict since all of the soccer games will take place on Saturdays. The student athletes should choose one sport as their primary focus and communicate this decision to both coaches.
