LCIS FASO 6/4/21
Hello LCIS Families,
We are so proud of our students and staff! They have all remained focused on learning even as we enter the uncharted territory of attending school in June. The students have done an amazing job keeping the spotlight on the task at hand. It has already proven to be of great benefit that our school district is still in session as our 5th graders have had an opportunity to explore the final math module for the first time ever! We know that this time together will prove to be worthwhile when we return to school in the fall and the students have a higher learning launch point. Thank you for allowing us to spend more time teaching your children!
Next week, on June 9th, Full Circle is offering the final session of their Family Engagement Learning Series from 6 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. This session is called “Safe Media Usage & Value of Outdoor Activity for Youth”. At the end of the session, families will receive an incentive that promotes healthy living in Lake County which may include: farm bucks to spend on local produce at Cloud City Conservation Center, a free one year family membership to the Get Outdoors Leadville Gear Library, or a a gift certificate to the Lake County Recreation Department to participate in adult or youth programming. Please use this link to sign up and learn how to navigate this critical and complex component of parenting.
The 3rd grade students went to Twin Lakes and The Leadville National Fish Hatchery last Tuesday to continue their water study. The weather was warm and the setting couldn’t have been more beautiful. The opportunity for field work in Lake County is hard to beat and we are thankful that our teachers are willing and capable of bringing learning outdoors! These memories will stay with our students for a lifetime.
Sadly, it is time to return all of our library books until next year. All student library books were due on Tuesday, and we are still looking for a few more to be returned. We want to encourage our students to keep reading throughout the summer! Please contact the Lake County Public Library at 719-486-0569, or better yet, explore their amazing website at https://www.lakecountypubliclibrary.org/home
