LCIS FASO 6-11-21
Hello LCIS Families,
It’s hard to believe that our last week of the school year has arrived. This has certainly been a year that we will all remember! We cannot thank you enough for all of your patience and understanding as we navigated all things COVID while working to deliver meaningful academic content to our students every day. We are extremely proud of our teachers and staff for maintaining a positive, we can do it! attitude throughout the year despite the challenges we’ve all faced. Our students showed resilience as they persevered through the changes and showed compassion with themselves and others when things did not go as planned.
On Monday, June 11, we will be releasing the links to our LCSD digital art show for 20/21 school year! We are still practicing our COVID 19 precautions, so we will not have our in-person Art Show this year. Last year we were able to launch a virtual Art Show, and it was a big success thanks to our wonderful community. There will be donated items and student artwork for sale with the proceeds benefiting the K-12 student art departments. Please watch for the link and log on!
We were so grateful that we were able to celebrate the school year with our annual Field Day. It was such a beautiful day to play outside in our amazing mountain town. Check out the photos from the fun-filled activities! (photographs courtesy of the multi-talented Mrs. Celesta Cairns)
3rd Grade Field Day
4th Grade Field Day
5th Grade Field Day
It was too blustery for 5th grade to stay outside! There were only a few students able to participate, and the parachute was very hard to handle in the wind, so they had “field” day in the gym.

Reading is Awesome!
Mrs. Osborn, our incredible librarian, is holding up 3 of the newest books that are joining the Library at LCIS They would make great summer reading books to check out from the public library! Remember to bring back your LCIS Library books ASAP!
“The Real McCoys: Wonder Under Cover” by Matthew Swanson and Robbi Behr is the third book in the critically acclaimed middle-grade series about mystery-solving siblings. In this book Moxie McCoy, the fourth grade detective, goes undercover.
“The Song from Somewhere Else” by A. F. Harrold, the author of the critically acclaimed The Imaginary, is a powerful story about friendship in the vein of Roald Dahl and Neil Gaiman.
“The Willoughbys Return” from living legend and Newbery medalist Lois Lowry comes a hilarious sequel to New York Times bestseller “The Willoughbys”.
