LCIS Friday Afternoon Shout Out 10/28/22
Hello LCIS Families!
Thank you for attending conferences this past week! We hope that you enjoyed seeing your child’s progress, hearing about their goals, and looking over their work. Likewise we hope that you were able to connect with your child’s teacher. If you were not able to attend conferences and would still like to, please reach out either directly to your child’s teacher or to the main office.
Halloween is Monday! Students are invited to come to school in their costumes. Masks and weapons are not appropriate for school. If a student wears make-up as part of their costume, they must still be able to participate in all aspects of school. Please do not send your child with any face paint or makeup for reapplication. Please consider sending a change of clothes for your child in the event that they would like to change out of their costume.
3rd grade – 2:50-3:20
4th grade – 2:25-2:50
5th grade – 2:00-2:30
6th grade- 8:05-8:30
Please do not send any food with your child on Halloween with the expectation that it will be shared with others. If your child does bring food to school, it will be returned home with them at the end of the day. If you would like to send a little Halloween prize to be shared you may, but this is not expected. Little prizes may include pencils, erasers, stickers, etc..
❄❅❆ The Knights of Columbus have generously donated funding to purchase warm winter clothing for our students. Request forms were available during conferences. Please return your winter clothing request form to the LCIS office by Tuesday, November 1st. If you did not get a form, please call the LCIS office and we can send one home with your child. We are so thankful for our community partners! Let us know how we can help you!
🦃 We are looking forward to the annual Thanksgiving Lunch on November 16th! We get to see so many families enjoy a delicious and affordable lunch with their kids. Please look for more details next week!
We have a new family connector at LCIS. Here is a short introduction:

Here’s some news from our school social worker:
My name is Karly Menchen. I support your students’ social and emotional needs at LCIS as the School Social Worker. I am from Maryland and graduated with my Master’s Degree in Social Work in 2020 from Salisbury University. I moved to Leadville in September 2021 and I am very grateful to have been welcomed into the Leadville community. I am making it my mission to start a LCIS Community Clothing Closet here in my office as there are times when students are in need of extra items. If you would like to donate any gently used items to the Community Clothing Closet, please send them to the school with your child or drop them off at the main office. We are in need of the following items:
-socks -short/long sleeve shirts -jeans/pants -snow pants -shoes/boots -hats/gloves
Thank you for your support. Please reach out to me with any questions. kmenchen@lakecountyschools.net
