Hello LCIS Families,  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Colorado Measures of Academic Success (CMAS) testing will take place this week!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We earned the Governor’s Bright Spot Award this year based on the hard work of our students and staff on our previous CMAS ELA and Math assessments. We have seen tremendous growth over the course of this year and look forward to seeing our students demonstrate their knowledge on these state assessments.  Please talk with your child about the upcoming tests and encourage them to show what they know! We all know that it takes perseverance to complete multiple assessments over the course of the next few weeks and we also know that our students are up to the challenge. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This spring our testing will take place beginning on April 10 and conclude on April 27th. Here\u2019s a breakdown of our schedule:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Please ensure that your child has their charged Chromebook ready to go every day <\/strong>for the next two weeks. Also, please do your best to have your child here every day for testing during this time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

LCIS celebrated student attendance with a Waffle Wednesday Breakfast.  Students who had 95% attendance or higher from Jan-March were invited to the gym for a special waffle breakfast with all of the fixings.  We had 111 students qualify for this reward!  Way to go LCIS!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Are you a current 6th, 7th or 8th grader at LCIS or LCHS? Come join us July 18 \u2013 July 23, 2023! The Lake County Backpack Trip<\/strong> is a fun, week-long adventure that culminates with a backpacking trip in the mountains that make up our backyard. Visit beautiful high alpine lakes, learn how to cook on a camp stove, sleep under the stars, make great new friends, and challenge yourself! The trip is free for all participants and will be run by the<\/strong> <\/strong>High Mountain Institute<\/a> in partnership with<\/strong> <\/strong>Full Circle of Lake County<\/a>. No experience is necessary. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Please note, students should bring the gear on the packing list that they already own. All other necessary gear will be provided by HMI free of charge. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

ATHLETIC UPDATE:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We have a home athletic event on Tuesday- the first ever boys\u2019 volleyball game in Lake County!! We will be hosting Vail Christian\u2019s boys\u2019 volleyball team on Tuesday, April 11. The game will begin at 4:30 pm at LCHS<\/strong>. Please come out and support your Panther team!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The team communication group is the best way to get updates on your students\u2019 practices and games. If you are not receiving messages from your child\u2019s coach, please contact them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Open gyms for middle school girls\u2019 basketball<\/strong> are coming! The team will be meeting on Sunday evenings from 6-8 pm at the LCIS gym. There will be no open gym this Sunday on Easter.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

5th grade girls are invited to attend, but a parent will need to sign the Assumption of Risk form when they drop them off at practice. Please come in with your 5th grade student the first time she attends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Football is returning to Lake County High School! We had announced a parent\/athlete meeting on Wednesday, April 12 at 6:00 pm in the LCHS library, but that meeting is CANCELED<\/strong>.  We plan to have a meeting later this spring once a head coach is hired.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
