Hello LCIS Families,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We\u2019d like to start by giving a huge shout out to you for helping your child get to school every day this week ready to test. We had an average of 96% attendance, some of our highest this year, which was fantastic for testing! Thank you for your support!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was impressive to see your children in testing mode this week. They were focused, took their time, and used their scratch paper to problem solve. Our teachers gave our countless Perseverance Habit Tickets to students following their testing sessions. All tickets will be entered into a drawing for a spring trip to see a Rockies game in Denver. We will hold our drawing during our next community meeting on Wednesday, April 29th.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Testing continues next week for our third graders who will take one math assessment each day, Monday-Wednesday, and our fifth graders will take their final science assessment on Monday. Our fourth and fifth graders have completed their assessments. If your child missed a day of school during testing, we will be working to get them caught up before the testing window closes on April 24th.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Upcoming:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

If your child participated in a BOCES Enrichment Infusion Course this spring, they may have been invited to attend the \u201cAvalanche Cabin\u201d Escape Room at Mountain Time Escape Room in Breckenridge as a reward for their participation and perseverance in their course. The field trip will take place on Thursday April 23 from 9:30 to 1:30. A permission slip with more details has been sent home on Tuesday, March 31. We are hoping to have the slip signed and returned to Mr. Doug by Monday April 13th<\/sup>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Homework- IXL:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

IXL homework dropped off this past week likely in response to state testing. Please encourage your child to get back into the homework habit. Even 20 minutes a day can make a positive difference in your child\u2019s academic performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ATHLETIC UPDATE:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Middle school spring sports are rolling, but it’s not too late to join the fun! Co-ed track and field holds practices at the intermediate school gym, and girls’ soccer practices at the Community Park Field. Both teams meet Monday-Thursday from 4-5:30 pm. All 6th<\/sup> graders are invited to participate! Please make sure that you have a sports physical turned into the office. Reach out if you need help contacting a coach or have any other questions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
