Center Family Updates
Hello Families,
First of all, we want to say how much we really miss seeing all of our children and families. We hope
you are all well and adjusting to this new normal. The next few weeks may not be easy for families and
children but we are here to help support you during this challenging time.
Currently, schools are scheduled to be closed until April 17th . We are taking this week to put together
some things to help support families and children while everyone is at home.
● Connecting with teachers:
This week teachers will reach out to parents to check in with you and your children. Teachers
will be supporting learning by providing weekly packets with activities your child can do at home.
They will set up weekly check ins calls with you during the time school is closed. You may see
an unfamiliar number on your phone calling a few times. It may be your child’s teacher. Please
make sure you connect with them as they will be your main contact at school while we are out.
● Learning Support:
Starting on Monday, March 30th, teachers will offer a 10-15 minute virtual classroom. The
teachers will read a book or do a music and movement activity for children to participate.
Teachers will have more information on how to access the virtual classroom. Teachers will also
be posting a Question of the Day for parents and children to answer together. The weekly
packets will have daily activities to do with your child along with other helpful information on how
to stay healthy during this time, local resources, etc.
● Upcoming Events:
The Family Fun Night on March 25th and April 29th and the Coffee Talks on April 8th and 22nd
have been cancelled. We are planning to be back at school on April 20th , but that may not be the
case. We will keep you updated with any other upcoming cancellations.
● Items at School:
We know some children have items at school you may need to get. We are looking ways for
families to come in and pick up their things while respecting all social distancing guidelines.
● School Meals: We are continuing to support our community with school meals. For more
information, please check here: https://wp.me/p4PQnj-5fG
We are here to support our students and you throughout these uncertain times. Again, contact your teacher via email or call the school number and leave a message, if you need help or have questions.
We also ask for your patience and understanding as we travel this new territory, too. We are excited to connect with you and the children in different ways than usual.
Be well!
