Food resources for Lake County families
Lake County is very lucky to have a network of resources to help individuals and families have access to healthy food in times of need.

Lake County School District
LCSD will continue to provide meals until further notice. Each meal sack will now include breakfast, lunch, and dinner. All meals are free, and are available to any children 18 years or younger. Adults do not have to be present for children to pick up meals.
Deliveries to the following sites will take place between 11:30-12:30, Monday-Friday.
- Mountain View West
- Mountain View East
- East Fork
- Lake Fork
- Eagles Nest
- Hemlock Neighborhood (Behind Family Dollar)
- Monroe Neighborhood
Lake County High School- this site is open for drive up or walk up. Drivers should remain in their cars and walkers should maintain 6ft distance from others. Some will come up to you and ask how many lunches are needed.
Mountain View West, Mountain View East, Mountain View Estates, and Lake Fork- School buses and suburbans as well as Full Circle Vans will be driving through neighborhoods every day (Mon-Fri) honking their horns with volunteers walking around their vehicles. Please stay near your home and send 1-2 people to pick up the lunches. There, someone will ask how many lunches you need.

If you are unable to obtain the sack breakfast/lunch from any of these locations, please call us ASAP at 719-427-7003.
St. George Episcopal Church
St. George’s is located at 200 West 4th Street.
Food Pantry
The food pantry at St. George’s is available to anyone in need Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 11am-1pm. Evening hours are available on Tuesdays from 5-7pm. A mix of fresh food, dairy, and nonperishable items is generally available.
Lunch pick up is available the same days and times: Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 11am-1pm.
Food Bank of the Rockies Monthly Distribution:
Prepacked food boxes are available on the third Wednesday of every month from 9AM-noon. Distribution dates for the summer are June 17, July 15, and August 19.
Please drive if you can. Stay in your car in the line and the helpers will come to your car with a box. Please do not arrive before 9AM and have patience with our new distribution system to keep everyone safe.
If you have other needs, please speak to the supervisor on duty.
Senior Center
The Lake County Senior Center is closed for further notice. However, Meals on Wheels has resumed as of April 15, 2020.
The Senior Center food bank is also closed. Please visit St. George’s food pantry instead. If you need transportation or other assistance, please fill out a request form at:

The Senior Center will continue to provide transportation for those 60 and older to medical appointments in Lake County, and to the Senior Shopping Hours at Safeway on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. For more information: 719-486-1774
Presbyterian Church
The Presbyterian Church will continue its regular Thursday evening food pantry at the backdoor of the church from 5-6 pm, on a weekly basis while supplies last. Participants will be asked to please be mindful of social distancing, and food boxes may be brought out to the car. Address: 299 McWethy Dr, Leadville, CO 80461
Safeway
Safeway has released a statement asking community members to avoid shopping at their stores from 7AM to 9AM on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays so that senior citizens and at risk community members (pregnant women and individuals with compromised immune systems) can shop during that time.
Pet food and medical treatments
Planned Pethood Leadville has resources to help community members meet their pets’ needs for food and medical treatments. If you need assistance with pet food or medical treatment, please fill out the Application for Assistance and email to president@plannedpethoodleadville.org. A copy of the application is also posted on the website: www.plannedpethoodleadville.org
If you are homebound and unable to retrieve groceries or visit the food pantries yourself, please add a request for support on the following form. If someone you know does not have internet access, please call the 2-1-1 resource hotline, and the operator can fill out the form for you.

Family and Intercultural Resource Center (FIRC) Food Pantry
FIRC food pantry in Summit County is open to Lake County Residents that are still working or traveling regularly to Summit County. They recommend to use their food pantry twice a month and use the other food pantries weekly.

1. Breckenridge – 1745 Airport Road back of building: Monday and Wednesday 12 – 1 pm
2. Silverthorne – 251 W. 4th Street: Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 12 – 1 pm
