LCES Families, This time of the year is filled with pumpkins, chilly mornings, and fall leaves. It’s truly beautiful seeing the seasons change right before our eyes. This can easily be compared to the growth we are seeing in our student’s each and every day. Whether it’s preschool students learning about families and birthdays or second grade students studying early Asian civilizations, learning is transpiring in every single student! We have a big week coming up with parent teacher conferences scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday. Use the link below to sign up for a conference to meet with your child’s teacher to hear about their most recent learnings and assessment scores. Also, please note these two conference days will be half days of school with dismissal starting at 11:00am. https://www.flashappointments.com/client/lgn/mobile.cfm?busId=13089 K-2 HOWLs Winners: We are so proud of our HOWLs winners from Quarter 1! These students earned the most HOWLs Dollars in their respective crews and earned the privilege of bringing a stuffed animal to school. We look forward to our next HOWLs challenge in Quarter 2, where the students with the most HOWLs in their crews will earn a special lunch with Mrs. Lovely and Ms. Rapke! Remind students to continue showing our HOWLs each day: collaboration, respect, responsibility, craftsmanship, compassion, perseverance, curiosity, and creativity. Staff Meals at Conferences: The LCSD District Accountability Committee (DAC) is organizing a potluck dinner for one night of conferences. We warmly invite all LCSD parents/families and community members to contribute what you can to feed our teachers and staff. Your generosity will make a meaningful difference and help us celebrate our dedicated educators. The DAC will be hosting the potluck on Thursday, October 17th. You can use this form to sign up to bring something to a school between 3-4pm on the 17th. Thank you! Art Update: We are excited to announce Mrs. Jennifer Northcraft is the newest member of our team as the PK-2 art teacher. Mrs. Northcraft’s first day is Monday, October 14th. She has many years of experience teaching elementary art and is excited to get back into the classroom. Be sure to stop and say hi to Mrs. Northcraft during conferences! Family Fun Night, Trick or Treat Festival: Mark your calendars for Thursday, October 24 from 6:00-7:00 pm for our annual trick or treat festival. See the flier below for more information! We look forward to seeing your best Halloween costumes for this fun & safe night of trick or treating at LCES. Older But Still Important: A Quick Note About Safety- When dropping your student off each morning, please use the main entrances to exit the building. This ensures all doors remain locked and safe. Thank you for your cooperation! Have a beautiful weekend, Panthers and we look forward to seeing families Wednesday or Thursday for conferences. You may be asking yourself! Well, we have lots of favorite people here at The Center!Of course, our precious Students are some of our favorite people. And, our Pre-K Parents and Families are some of our favorites as well! You will be able to hear about their many successes as well as discuss any concerns you or their teachers may have. And, during that time – be sure to look around and find the special display highlighting and celebrating some of our favorite people.
