LCES Families, Thank you so much for taking the time to meet with your student’s teacher as we truly value the parent and school relationship and collaboration. We hope you found your parent/teacher conferences rich and informative with bright spots and attainable next steps on things you can do with your students at home. Best Regards, Clare Mulcey Literacy Specialist Lake County Elementary School Parent Volunteers: If interested in volunteering, we encourage parents to reach out to their child’s teacher or Mrs. Lovely to see where the biggest need of help may be. Sometimes this may look like making copies or laminating new math materials. We always appreciate the extra help! You’re Invited to Lunch! Families are welcome to join their student during their lunch time. Lunch times are as follows: Kindergarten eats at 11:40, first grade eats at 12:00, and second grade eats at 12:20. Please be sure to sign in at the front office and if eating school lunch, bring $4.50 for an adult meal. Thanks! Attendance Reminder: If you know your child will be absent from school, please notify our front office staff. If your child is planning to miss school for 3 or more days, you should complete the Request for Pre-Arranged Absence Form in the front office. This form should be submitted three days prior to the absence so that we can notify your child’s teachers and appropriate support for your child can be put into place. We follow the district attendance policy, as follows: 1. After 7 absences, we require a doctor’s note to excuse all future absences. 2. At 10 absences, we notify parents/caretakers of our concerns in writing and meet to establish an attendance success plan. 3. At 15 absences (chronic absenteeism defined in BOE Policy JH), we hold an attendance meeting to discuss further actions as needed. Any further absences the parent/guardian must call and speak with the Assistant Principal directly. 4. At 20 absences, the Assistant Principal may refer the student to Nancy Abila the Juvenile Diversion Coordinator for the District Attorney’s office or Truancy Court.Thank you for your support in ensuring that our students are here and ready to learn each day! Food Program: Smart Bellies delivers kid-friendly food weekly and a bag of produce for our families. Register by filling out the form at https://forms.gle/5KyNS6wkEVv89uns6. We will leave the bags of food outside of your door each week. Lake County deliveries happen on Thursday each week. Hello Center Families, THANK YOU for attending our parent teacher conferences this week! It is always so nice to see families and teachers partnering together to support your preschooler! If you were unable to attend, please reach out to your child’s teacher. They can reschedule a time, chat with you on the phone, or send home some information that was shared. Halloween comes with the month of October. LCES will be hosting a trick or treat night on October 24 from 6-7. Wear your costumes and come out for some trick or treating fun! Remember our TV is full of flyers, announcements, and happenings. Be sure to check it out as you enter or exit to stay up on all the news! I hear there is snow in the air, stay warm and enjoy your weekend! Please let your teacher know if you need any materials or pictures to be printed. Tropical Fish:Show your child how to make diagonal lines on the tropical fish. Then have your child try themselves. Think of other ways you can practice vertical lines. Your child is growing and learning and it is an exciting time to be a part of The Center! And, here at The Center, we have some amazing Staff Members! Please take time to check-out the new bulletin board “These are a Few of Our Favorite People!” which highlights our Teachers and Aides. The board lists their names and birthdays along with some of their “Favorite Things.” These incredible individuals are dedicating their lives to helping children grow and learn – to helping your child grow and learn. Please let them know how much you appreciate their efforts – they really are an important part of your child’s life. A binder containing copies of the Bulletin Board Information will be in the Preschool Office and available for you to review throughout the remainder of this school year — it really means a lot to our Staff when you take time to appreciate them. Menu The Lake County School District has an excess of artificial turf rolls obtained during the re-turf of the Community Field. They are currently stored in the upper parking lot of the Lake County Intermediate School on 6th street. They are free to anyone who would like to take them. Each roll weighs about 1,200 pounds, and are on a first come, first serve basis. |
