Students at school have been working on completing the diagnostic assessment, which then tailors individualized learning for each student based on specific skill needs. We will send home log in information for IXL on Thursday, this upcoming week in Thursday folders. We look forward to seeing student growth excel in partnership with IXL and continued reading at home.&nbsp;<br><strong>PowerHub: <\/strong>This year we have transitioned all communication, grades, and payments to our online student information system, PowerSchool. Please do not make any payments with EFunds, our previous system. If you registered, you should have already received a letter confirming your student\u2019s enrollment and returned the letter to Raquel, our Site Supervisor. If you have not yet registered and are interested in programs, you can reach out to Raquel directly.Pickup TimesFor afterschool programs, students must be picked up by 6:00 pm.&nbsp;For Friday programs, students must be picked up by 3:30 pm.Friday DopoffAll-day: 7:45a \u2013 8:00 am&nbsp;Afternoon: 11:45a-12:00 pmPolicy Updates<strong>Late Pickup (updated this year)<\/strong>: A student who is picked up late more than two times in a calendar month will not be allowed to attend their next scheduled program day. A student who is picked up late more than three times in a calendar month will have their number of weekly program days reduced by one for the remainder of the month. If we are unable to contact a parent or emergency contact within 30 minutes, the Department of Human Services will be called.<strong>Cell Phones (updated this year): <\/strong>Use of Student Communication Devices will not be allowed at any time during Project Dream. All devices must be turned off and stored in designated areas or containers until the end of the program.A complete list of information for LCES Project Dream can be found on our website:<a href=\"https:\/\/www.lakecountyschools.net\/2024-2025-lake-county-elementary-school-project-dream-information\/\"> LCES Project Dream Information<\/a>Raquel Contreras, LCES Site Supervisor719-293-5363 <a href=\"mailto:rcontreras@lakecountyschools.net\">rcontreras@lakecountyschools.net<\/a>&nbsp;Se Habla Espa\u00f1ol<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>The Center Specifics<\/strong><\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Hello preschool families,<br>Fall was certainly in the air this week.&nbsp; I think we will see the leaves changing soon!&nbsp; We wanted to share our overall program expectations that all classrooms follow.&nbsp;&nbsp;<br>These are:We are safe.We are responsible.We are kind.<br>During the first few weeks of school, each classroom worked together to develop classroom rules and guidelines that go with our program rules.&nbsp; This work will help children understand overall classroom expectations.&nbsp; For example a classroom might have the rule \u201cWe share\u201d to go with \u201cWe are kind\u201d or \u201cWe clean up\u201d to go with \u201cWe are responsible.\u201d&nbsp; Teachers will continue to reinforce and support these guidelines as needed and through other social instruction.&nbsp; Next week, we will begin talking about friendships and implementing strategies to support children with making friends, how to ask to play with peers, and how to cooperatively play together.&nbsp;&nbsp;<br>We are working on establishing our Policy Council for this school year.&nbsp; Policy Council is a parent group that serves as part of our governance process for our Head Start grant.&nbsp; This group meets monthly with meals and childcare provided.&nbsp; We review program practice, policies, guidelines, and requirements specific to Head Start standards but also across our program as a whole.&nbsp; Members of the Policy Council are elected but anyone with interest is welcome to apply and will be placed on the ballot.&nbsp; We will be moving this process forward next week.&nbsp; Please reach out to Rhonda DeVoe (contact info below) if you are interested.&nbsp;&nbsp;<br>We hope that you have a wonderful weekend!
