West Park Weekly Parent Update for 12/20 & 12/27/2020
Greetings, WPE families!
I hope your families can enjoy some holiday time together (or virtually)! There is so much to be grateful for within our WPE family and please know that educating your children is a task we accept with joy and humility. I am so proud of our students, staff and families for all that we’ve accomplished and learned in the past nine months! We know that this is not a permanent situation in education, or in our lives, so I hope we can be patient while we wait for changes to help us all be safer and healthier in the upcoming year. We are excited to see our students back in January!
For the upcoming semester, WPE will continue with our hybrid model of every other, full day learning at WPE and the 2nd days being with Project Dream at Pitts Elementary or at home. WPE staff continues to deliver our curriculum to students during the next semester, and we look forward to the long semester ahead to carry on with our momentum! We will carry on with a virtual school option as well, with two WPE teachers facilitating the CDLS online curriculum. Lastly, we will continue to strengthen our work with the Project Dream Crew Leaders to ensure that the 2nd day programming continues the mixture of academic work time as well as enriching activities and outdoor fun!

*Students will bring their computer devices home with them over the Winter Break. I recommend leaving the device in their school bag in a safe place until it is used again, to prevent damage.
*Winter Celebration Activities online from Mrs. Moffett.
Two Google Music Classrooms are available for your child. They have the same content and include dancing, singing, workouts, crafts, drawing, and learning about other cultures. Any family can access these anytime!

*Want to read a story with me? Please go to our WPE Bedtime Stories Facebook page. You may recognize some of your favorite Lake County people reading their favorite children’s book.
* If you have any tech concerns, please email helpdesk@lakecountyschools.net with a description of the problem.
*Thank you for your understanding as I have been out of school for an extended time due to an injury to my neck.
