West Park Weekly Parent Update 1/22/2021
Greetings, WPE families and students!
I hope you have been able to enjoy a week of beautiful weather. Our WPE and Project Dream staff continue to work hard in creating safe and engaging activities for your children throughout the week.
*A few good questions to ask your child about their day instead of “how was school?” could be:
- Tell me about the best part of your day.
- What was the hardest thing you had to do today?
- Did any of your classmates do anything funny?
- Tell me about what you read in class.
- Who did you play with today?
- Tell me about what you drew or created in class today.
*How much screen time is recommended for children between ages 5-8? Please check out the attached infographic to help decide – to limit screen time for our younger children is important and can help cultivate their imagination and your special time together!

*Good sleep is critical to your child’s success at school, just like it is critical for adults. Here’s a chart to help guide recommended bedtimes:

*Second semester is 23 weeks long, and we look forward to the great progress and growth we can continue with your children before the end of the school year on June 17th. We will continue to follow our health guidelines well, to create as safe a learning environment as possible!
*Want to read a story with me? Please go to our WPE Bedtime Stories Facebook page. You may recognize some of your favorite Lake County people reading their favorite children’s book.
