CCHS News and Announcements

Hello CCHS Families,

It was wonderful to see everyone during parent teacher conferences. The students have been working hard in their courses and were thrilled to showcase their work. Our first semester is almost to an end. There are only ten academic days left before NWEA testing and our regroup days. All students need to attend their scheduled classes and finish strong.

In October we did an attendance challenge. We were looking for students to be 85% or above on attendance and on time. Only five students received their lunch gift certificate for reaching this goal. We would like to see this number increase during the month of November. This means only being absent when necessary and being on time to every CCHS class. Parents, we would love for you to stress this to your children and help improve the students’ daily attendance. Again, try to make those necessary appointments on Mondays and Fridays during non-school class days.

A few dates to remember, Wednesday, November 16^th is our Workforce Bootcamp Day. All students should be in attendance that day, all day. Tuesday, November 22^nd is our Thanksgiving lunch. Please RSVP to Leslee no later than November 17^th if you are planning on attending so the cooks can prepare for the proper amount. December 6^th is our NWEA testing day. All students should be in attendance on this day. They will be released early after completing the Reading and Math assessment.

The Elks Lodge is making Thanksgiving baskets for families in need. If your family is in need of this or you know of a family in need of this, please reach out to me no later than Thursday of this week to get you or someone you know on the list. This is the complete fixings for a meal and will be delivered to your home on Sunday, November 20^th.

CCHS Thanksgiving Meal Tuesday, November 22^nd, 11:45 am. Parents, guardians, and family members are invited to come enjoy this meal with your student! The adult guest price is $4.50, student guest price is $3.10. If your student guest is enrolled in any Lake County School, we will simply use that student’s Lunch ID number to ring up the meals. RSVP to Leslee, 719-486-6980 or ltorsell@lakecountyschools.net by Thursday, November 17^th so that we can provide an accurate count to the kitchen staff.
