Hello CCHS Families,
It’s hard to believe there are only four weeks left of school and just two weeks for our graduates. Great things have been happening here at CCHS:
Student Achievements:
On May 3rd and 4th, seven CCHS students graduated from CMC. Among them, five received certificates in welding, one earned a certificate in real estate, and one obtained a nurse aide certificate. Congratulations to these students! This achievement sets them up to take their exams for career-recognized industry certification, allowing them to practice their trades. For welders, this certification exam is scheduled on Saturday, May 18th for students either at 9:00am or 1:00pm.
NWEA Reward Celebration:
Students who met or exceeded their growth goal on the NWEA exam are invited to the reward celebration on Tuesday, May 28th, from noon to 4:00 PM. More details to come next week.
Graduation Requirements:
Graduating students need to ensure all work is completed, including 40 hours of service learning, documented, and submitted, and all competencies checked off. The final requirement is the presentation of their portfolio, scheduled for either Wednesday, May 29th or Thursday, May 30th. To participate in the graduation ceremony, all requirements must be signed off by 4:00 PM on Thursday, May 30th. Please check in with your student’s crew teacher if you have questions or need to know your child’s progress.
Attendance Concerns:
Attendance continues to be a significant concern, with several students arriving late or not attending their scheduled classes. We encourage parents/guardians to stress the importance of attendance with your child. If they are unable to attend for any reason, please call the office ahead of time, 719-486-6980.
