Dear Lake County School District parents & families:
We hope this finds you well and enjoying the very busy end of the school year! To ensure the district’s one-to-one Chromebook program can continue to be successful, the district will be collecting all student Chromebooks at the end of the school year. This letter explains expectations for students regarding returning their Chromebooks at the end of the year.
If your student currently possesses a district Chromebook, please read these expectations carefully:
- All Chromebooks must be returned to the district at the end of the school year. The district will be collecting these for routine maintenance, updates and cleaning. Students returning to LCHS, CCHS or LCIS will be issued the same Chromebook the following fall. Requests for students to keep Chromebooks over the summer will be considered only for academic purposes, and will be addressed on a case-by-case basis by the building administration.
- Graduating seniors will return their Chromebooks as part of senior check out. 7th-11th graders will turn in their Chromebooks as part of their check out after their last final.
- It is expected that students return their Chromebook and power cord in good working order. The district will be evaluating all returned Chromebooks to ensure they are in working order for the start of the 2025-26 school year.
- Students who do not return a Chromebook at the end of the school year will not be issued a device at the start of the 2025-26 school year. Additionally, all Chromebooks not returned will be disabled and will not be usable until returned to the district.
- If for some reason a student does not return their Chromebook after their last final, please email Andy Hall (ahall@lakecountyschools.net) to arrange an alternate return time/date.
- If you would like to request that your student be able to keep his or her Chromebook over the summer for academic purposes, please ask your student to be watching their email for a link to the request form.
Thank you so much in advance for helping ensure that all student Chromebooks are returned on time and in good working order so that we can keep this program going strong for next year and beyond!
Sincerely,
Andy Hall

Housing@10,200’ Project in Leadville
Thank you for your interest in the Housing @ 10,200′ project in Leadville. The deadline to submit an application for the Phase 2 lottery is quickly approaching on Friday, June 13th.
If you are planning to submit an application, now is the time to be speaking with a lender to obtain a pre-qualification letter for a housing loan. For your information, I’ve attached a list of lenders who have reviewed the deed restrictions and are participating in the program to provide lending options to buyers. You may also choose to work with any other lender not on this list.
As a reminder, Lake County housing officials conducted a lottery in February for potential homeowners, with 10 buyers proceeding. Those homebuyers will be selecting their units soon. The project is for 24 homes to be built, so there at least 14 units remaining for the Phase 2 lottery.
The second lottery is on July 23rd for the remaining available homes. Again, the deadline to apply for the next lottery is on June 13th. You must complete and submit the attached application and submit your pre-qualification letter.
If you know anyone else who might be interested in a home, please share this information with them. Please reach out to me with any questions.
Sincerely,
Jackie Whelihan

Atentamente,
Jackie Whelihan
